Navjot Singh Bhai Amrik Singh is the son of the late Bhai Dharam Singh Zakhmi, who was one of the greatest Ragis of the 20th Century. Bhai Amrik Singh spent many years learning Gurmat Sangeet from his father and uncle, Bhai Samsher Singh Zakhmi. During his father's lifetime, Bhai Amrik Singh provided vocal support and played the Dilruba with his Jatha. Now Bhai Sahib is one of the leading living exponents of Gurmat Sangeet in the world today. Bhai Sahib is supported by his son, Bhai Harjot Singh who is emerging as a fine Kirtaniya and his brothers, Pal Singh on the Dilruba and Amritpal Singh on the Tabla. These recordings were made in November 2003 during a visit to the Bridgewater by Bhai Sahib Amrik Singh Zakhmi and his Jatha. The Gurmat Sangeet project would like to thank S. Navjot Singh Ji, who diligently produced these recordings and took all the photograps featured on this page.
